#NewNormal Art Loan summer relaunch event

Updated: Oct 12, 2020

As lockdown eased we decided the first opening event in Sprout Gallery, would be our ArtLoan, which was very popular - Art-loans make great Zoom backgrounds!

Throughout lockdown Sprout Art Gallery had brightened up the neighbourhood with a wide range of art displayed in the windows by popular local artists, there were also creative challenges set and fantastic artworks fundraising for #CriticalNHS auction on display. But lockdown proved how important it is to have art in your home...

Members were offered the option to roll-over their loan until the Autumn, and we expected it to be a scaled-back event, but there was a really great response with new pieces added and many new people becoming members.

It was wonderful to see familiar faces again, as well as lots of new faces and families. It was held over 4 days, from Thursday 24th to Sunday 28th June and only open in the afternoon, as many of our usual volunteers were still shielding - big thanks to our new volunteers who stepped in to help us keep to all the new social distancing and hygiene rules!

Thank you to the kind volunteers who made some lovely artbags to take work home in - which were very popular. As well as our fantastic range of cards there were also some lovely produce for sale including prints from Amy Adams and Furzedown Art Studio and our book-loan shelves were open to browse.
